VIC Cruise to DECA

With quite a few members competeing at the comming DECA Day it would be a good idea if we travelled up in a group. Spectators are more than welcome so if you would like to join us for a day of motorsport fun (and a shootout against the Ford boys at the end) then here is the plan.

We will meet at the Caltex servo station which is on the south-bound side of the Hume Hwy at Kalkallo (refer to map link below) at 5.45 to leave at 6.00, so please don't be late as we can't afford to hang around. Leaving at this time should get us to Shepparton by 8.00 which is when scrutineering is due to start.

i think its a dead coilpack but i really have to get it on datascan or conzult....dont know if anyone on this side has one though

But honestly do you know what time I am going to have to get up to come from Geelong!? Not even the birds will be bothered with waking up at that time.

 

How do you guys find out about this stuff, i live in Shepp n havnt heard anythig about it...When is this happening, would like to meet some of you...

 

The day is being run by Melbourne based clubs which probably explains why you didn't hear about it up in Shep. For more details on the day just read through the original thread (click me) and feel free to drop by on the day and meet a few people.

 

hey gotblz i live about 35 min away from you ,, and its going to take me about 45 min to get to the meeting point ,, so at a guess i would say for you it will be about 1 hour and 20 min for you to get there ... dont hold me to it but yeah , that should help you sort something out ....

I live in Carrum Downs, which is a bloody long way from Kalkallo too. Since we are trailering the car up it will probably take as long for us to get there as it will for you. You at least have the Geelong road, we have the construction zone formerly known as the Monash freeway.

 

Ouch, yeah im just complaining cause I normally like my sleep ins. But being there will be better than sleeping in.

hey man we can meet up at 5 on the dot ,, go down the western ring road, and take sunshine ave exit.caltex service station is on sunshine avenue, just turn left at the end of the exit and it will be up on your right.

No problem; quite often they put sprinklers onto the skidpan anyway. Might be a bit cool for the speckled taters, but it couldn't be much worse than Philip Island was yesterday!

Chad, Jake and me (and maybe Peter Black) will be meeting at the Shell Servo on the cnr of Warrigal rd and Princes hwy in Oakleigh at 4.30 and we will be leaving at 4.45 and will drive to Kalkallo. Anyone else in the area is welcome to drive up with us. Will probably be taking citylink so you can buy a day/weekend pass from the Shell servo if needed.

Also anyone who hasn't already done so might want to disable the j-spec speed chime. The speed limit is 110 most of the way and that chime gets really annoying after 2hrs driving.

 

Can you even hear yours going @ 110? I can't, it gets drowned out by road/tyre/engine/exhaust noise.

Failing all of the above, crank up the music and it's gone again.

I kept my chime, it's a handy little warning when you're not on a freeway
