Cruise control not applying drive

I'd rather not pay anything and just repair this stupid rubber hose. I'm pretty upset, to be honest. The FSM, in typical help-manual style, simply says "repair or replace rubber hose". As if I couldn't figure that out by myself, it's not bloody connected! What it doesn't tell you is how to do it.
What's more rubber hoses are expected to break, they have a limited lifespan. To make one impossible to replace without replacing the entire unit is ridiculous.

 

yes, the hose is replaceable, but it requires an in tact nipple at both component ends. If it doesnt simply plug back into the diaphram, pull the hose off of the motor end and inspect it, if there is plastic within the end that it supposed to plug into the actuator/diaphram, then the diaphram will need replacing.

Sure, you can attempt to glue it back in, but if you dont get a proper seal, or somehow block the pathway for the minute amount of vacuum that the small pump motor creates, then it could lead to an inoperable system.

It all makes sense. So the hose hasn't snapped, the plastic tube nippley thing that the hose slips over has. That explains the plastic inside the end of the hose. It also explains why the hose appears to be permanently attached to the diaphragm...I was looking at it all wrong.

might have my old working unit baz. Only removed to replace with a chrome plated one.

badxtc, I've been in conversation with another guy, but getting his unit might be even more difficult than getting yours. So you may be on for a BBQ swap.
