crank timing gear

    literally the last bloody thing and then engine is fully pulled apart. have tried everything to get this off with no luck. ideas? ive read a few skyriners have cut them in half....:S

    Cut above the keyway with a 4" grinder, then crack it with a cold chisel.

    another method is to drill and two holes into the body of the sprocket and then use a puller.


    I cut.

    As Chrispy said, drill and crack crank sprocket. Angle grinder is NOT for the faint-hearted.

    lol angle grinding is no issue i use power tools all day at work. i was hoping i wouldnt have to destroy the gear though. where would i get another one? caz or someone sell them? havnt seen any for sale recently:p

    Yep, Caz. I think they about $20. You should be doing the whole 100K service anyway :p

    100k service involves changing the sprocket?? lol shows how much attention i pay whilst reading:p

    recipricating sabre saw FOR THE WIN!!! got the bitch off thismorning. sliced a big chunk off then just levered with screwdriver. now just need a new one
