I read the tech section on crank angle sensors and it says to mark the cas when you remove it and it takes millimeter precision to reinstall it. So what do you do when you are taking the old one out and putting a new one in? Anything I need to know about before I give it go?

    cheers

Positioning should be very similar, but a timing light will get it right.

Just take it easy till you have it checked if you are concerned.

Look inside the barrel or the CAS when you remove it. There is a locator key inside it (small half moon shaped piece) .

Your new CAS should have this piece on it unless its sheared off. You can align the new CAS fairly well by lining up these keys. Use consult or a timing light to check but you should have it as it was before when the new one is installed

thanks mate. I did find the small half moon shaped piece. I thought it must have sheared off until I realised how small it it. I'll put it on today and take it to the auto elec for a check with the timing light.
