    Hey guys,

I've got a coolant leak coming from where the belts are, no leak at all near the radiator or the hoses.

When the engine is on, no coolant leaks (just a drop or two), but if i go for a drive it would be gushing out, and if i were to top it up again, maybe about 250ml would go in. Dosnt over heat, drove back home fine.

As i know when ive bought the car, it has not have a major service done.

Would it happen to be the water pump, thermostat, or gaskets or seals ?

smiliar to this guys problem http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314376&highlight=coolant+leaking

    Cheers

just been through this, try and get a mirror and torch light and get a good look in arround hard pipes and in,as in my case try and get a look under the water pump, the seal in mine was shot which causes water to run out of a hole on the underside of the neck also there are two short rubber hoses above the thermostat housing If you go to tech section and search 100k there are some great pics and decriptions that will let you see what you may be dealing with.

If the leak is from that general area as you can see in the picture from the other thread it could be water pump , bypass hoses/pipes and or thermostat .

Hopefully its the coolant bypass hoses its the easiest to fix . I highly recommend getting the coolant bypass pipes as your old ones will be rusty and possibly the cause for your slow leak .
