In the manual it refers to dropping the coolent out of the block using coolent taps, Where are these located? I have a 90' TT manual, 2+0. I did the heater core and im just bypassing the heater.

To remove the lower timing cover, do i need to remove any of the pulleys? Im trying to get the water pump out thats all.

My shroud also is smashed off the left hand side and is has never had a bottom shroud since i have had it. Are these a nesecity for the cooling?

The block taps are nearlly impossible to get to. They are near the engine mounts, I never bother if the engine is in the car.

Crank pulley has to come off to get the lower timing belt cover off.

Yes, you need a shroud for proper cooling.
