You don't make friends by bagging others pride and joys.

What was the point of your post ?

Eastern Eye !!! MOST WANTED !!!

ahh yes, that car needs a bit of body work done to the left hand side, as its been keyed from heat to toes with it :( otherwise not too shabby - the reserve was a bit high though

Would be worth more than $10,100 though, 12-13 k ?

Being an automatic NA would've been a big reason that car didn't meet its reserve. Even being a convertable it's still not really all that desirable except to a collector or something.

For how many there are and what it costs to find a good one ,I would say 10000 is very cheap.
I think Stef is more on the money.
For one in this condition12-14 is what you would pay at auction .
I dont see how Auto or NA has anything to do with price, this is a car that has only around 35-50 examples in Australia and 3420 world wide.
So I think its rather cheap and for a little extra cash(to fix everything up eg paint job) you would still get back more than what it cost you if you were to resell it.

I wasnt bagging other peoples rides, i didnt say convertibles are shit because they are not. I dislike them because i dont like look of them and they dont come in TT + manual from factory. I just stated my opinion.

Tell that to the guy who didn't make his reserve price on that auction! ;)

I like them myself, I think they're cool looking but like I said they're only worth top dollar to either a collector or someone who really knows alot about these cars and wants one badly. Having t-tops is enough for most people unless they just want something different.

all you convertable drivers out there

just a couple of questions, roof up whats the rear visibility like?

and how much "scuttle shake" does the car have....(flex in the body and convertable only rattles while driving)

As long as the plastic rear window is fairly new, visibility is fine. You may get funny effects a bit like looking in those mirrors that make you fat or skinny sometimes, but not too extreme.

With the top up, mine creaks a bit where the top meets the windscreen, so there is movement there. (might try some silicon spray)

I put a front strut brace in and that stiffened it up a little bit.

Main thing is that with the top down, you drive it like a completely different car. You feel the speed much more, it gets noisy, traffic is noisy and the wind may blow your hat off.

i recon visability sucks roof up or down , but i guess its the same in all zeds really, flooring it with the roof down feels great but dangerous aswell. If your next to a truck when it changes gears or something it sounds like its about to run you over though. There is a bit of skuttle shake its definitely not as stiff as my 2 seat hard top was. i like it though its the only fast big convertible any where near that price ( well with the tt engine in it )

    Convertibles I Like - Now

Convertibles I quite like myself, but never use to. Would be nice to really do one up differently and the VH41 would go straight in nicely and such a cheap engine. (Can do the full swap inc. engine half cut price, all wiring everything drive in and drive out for about 5k. :D
I was the highest bidder on this one but was not going to pay the 15k reserve and the owner is thinking to clean up themselves now.

There were a few things that needed attention on this one-
.. The key scratch down the left hand side
    .. Cracked front bar
.. Water leaks, needs new seals around doors and wherever else + roof rattles (normal)
.. Rear window / plastic needs replacing, any idea how much guys??

    Service and the usuals..

And the big worry I feel if were purchasing to drive is 200k+ on the odometer.

    Only my $0.02c

If I could pull myself to handing over 20k on another car I would be knocking on Cra-Z-Boy?s door tomorrow, just love that car pics don?t do it justice is 100% better in the flesh and I have not seen the new interior!!

How the Hell can visibility be bad in a convertible? All you have is a roll bar and a windscreen(what are you expecting to see?).:zlove::zlove:
