conversion prob

need some help im just about finish with the auto to manual conversion.
now im stuch with the alternator and engine room harness one conector is diferent the automatic has 4 whires and the manual has 6 how can i conect this one ?

 

you will need the MT Alternator harness.

whats the difference? why can't you mod the auto one?

i pulled it out naw im puting the mt one in.

 

but,.... what has the gear box got to do with the alternator? they are totally separate units that have no need to interact with each other...?

 

i think wats goin on is...hav u taken the manual harness and replaced the auto one with it?

 

why would you need to.. a manual is a manual because its manual.. not harness related...

yeah i changed the harness, i got a manual half cut i puled the engine and transmision together with the engin harnes, than i puled my old automatic engin and transmision with the harness, now i put the menual engin and harness in and 1 plug is diferent its on the alternator harness. there is a way to fix it, i tried to find the way with no luck, with the engine in i puled the alternator harnes out and now im replacing it with the manual one, ill see how i go tomorro?

 

There is a short harness that comes with the MT. It has part of the starter circuit in it and the controls for a few things for the manual box

but does any one actually know the difference? ie can auto harness be modded to suit?

Its probably something like a different neutral switch.

 

yeah you need to ground the neutral switch on the auto shifter i believe

 

I going to bypass the starter and netural. Reversing lights is the only problem.

 

i belive so to but i dident know so i changed the whole thing.
