Hi Guys....I use my zed only on weekends, polished it today, decided to take some pics and share them,am considering selling it and getting an 2000 Alfa Spider in June(yes i know I am swearing saying this on here)has anyone heard any bad things about them?
why on earth would you want to sell such a beautiful zed.. .... DUMP THAT IDEA .....!!!!!:bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :banned:
actually alfa are pretty bad.....pretty yes and bad as well....in terms of there problematic parts from what i heard and gearbox......pretty much the only euro car that isnt up to scratch.....
My dad has a 2000 model alfa 156. After taking him for a spin in my TT, his words were "wow its so powerful", "oh its handling is so sharp and precise", "takes the corners really well", its such a beautiful car" and "good thing I dont have one of these, I'd drive it like a madman, I bet you have a lot of fun in it". And this was all in a short trip home from the city, I never took it above 3,500 rpm. Imagine if I'd shown him WOT @ 6,500 rpm! He'd need new undies Now Ricky, I see your Z is only an auto and its non-turbo. So I guess yours doesnt have that effect on you or others. I'm not going to tell you not to sell, as there are many other better cars than the Z out there. If you want a car that looks fast, but isnt - essentially a poser mobile, then the alfa is for you. But you might as well get a hyundai triburon instead. If you actually want a real car that has power and performance to back up the looks, then keep looking, dont take the alfa.
Oh and as for porblems with alfa's - my dad has had mostly electrical problems with his; the electronic sequential shift gearbox stuffed up - he would be driving along in traffic and then the gears would just switch to neutral, and he couldnt get it back in - very dangerous. He would need to pull the car over and restart it several times before the gears would engage again. Problem is fixed now, but it really gave him the shits when running late for work :bash:
alfas are known for making beautiful cars...not reliable or powerful, just beautiful, thats what they are about thats not to say every alfa out there is unreliable.
Thanks Thanks for the replies guys....dont get me wrong I love the zed...in fact I go overboard with it....wont park it in car parks etc etc....my main concern is parts etc...I would be hesitant to drive it interstate fearing any problems on the way....here in Melb the going hourly labour rate is now about $90 an hour. I have had it since Sep 2006 and for 12 months was my daily driver and the k,s were going up so for the last 6 mths it takes me to golf and back. Like a lot of us the feeling to sell comes on and then subsides...Thanks for the comments re the Alfas..looks like wasnt a good option anyway.
Dude I drove to Brisbane from Melbourne in two days in the middle of summer! Dont be soft, your Z is not that fragile! lol
