ok, got my car back today from the compliance workshop , i have a feeling i might have been ripped off a tad. Any body say weather i have or not b4 i start complaining. :D

    heres the invoice.

    15 Yo vehicle compliance $1000

includes: mirror, noise test, intrusion bars, child restraints and raws sign off

    EXTRA PARTS:

    seat belts $300
    brake pads $44
    steering rack boot $20
    hose
(radiator they said) $12(thought these hoses cost more)
    globes hic [2] $35
    globes hi[2] $12
    coolant $15
    freight $16.5
and heres the biggie thats got me wondering

    hmmm...

$1000 is a decent price for just the compliance issues (intrusion bars etc). That is a total price including labour. parts for this don't cost much.

parts prices seem reasonable (not sure about seatbelt prices though).

labour price is high if it is just to fit forementioned parts. don't think its for the intrusion bars etc, because as i said, parts for that don't cost much.

Overall it is a bit nasty, but not hugely outrageous.

    Seems steep

You're saying $1980 total plus GST.

I just had two done in Bris, one was $980, the other $1099, (new battery) all inc GST.

PERTH PEOPLE, DONT GO TO DOWN UNDER AUTOS FOR COMPLIANCING

Mate you got ripped real bad!!!!!!
even with your additional work it should not have been that much!!!!!!
    That is screwed mate!
You should talk to Geoff "Prestige Motorsport" to remove them from his list of reputable compliancers, as they are dodgy bastards!!!!

I went to "AUTOWORX", very friendly, very nice.
You get the rundown of pricing before they do any work, so you are completely satisfied.

I did call Down Under up, but didn't like there service and lack of giving me estimated prices.
So went to Autoworx...Glad I did now.

Mate you should write to consumer affairs!
