So the day has come.. What to do with my z? I love her, but every solution I come up with The zed loses I can't justify the rego on it whilst paying rego on my navara Plus I don't drive it that much So normal reg doesn't make sense, considering selling her although every part of me hates the idea So.. Club reg? Does anyone know of any clubs in the geelong area? Or anyone that could point me in the right direction? Cheers Stephen.
I'm in the same boat... I already have a nice car for a daily and the Z is very special to me and is only used on the occasional w/end. It has now been out of rego for 3mths. So decided instead of blowing money on rego to spend the money to improve it. Things like... Finally replaced the front shocks with nice new Bilsteins which had been lying around for months. The strut assemblies are like new which includes new rubbers and strut tower tops, The springs have been cleaned and look nice and shiny. Next is addressing the central locking issue. Then it's gearbox issue. Its turning 25YO next year so I wonder if it can be registered as a classic car. Will have to investigate this. Peter
There is a member here somewhere that is involved in a Victorian club that offers club rego, might take some intense googling to find them. He mentioned there was a meeting coming and Vic may end up need RWCs for club rego so you'll have to check where they're up to on that.
So that you know each state runs a different system, I'm not sure if NSW is the same as ACT but if it is your car needs to be stock or OEM equivalent unless you can get it approved as a 'period correct' mod, I think NSW and ACT are in the process of changing stuff too
Your thinking of Redzedmikey, he was posting in this thread clicky, regarding ndsoc Has been a bit of discussion in the vic section on Sau (their vic club issues club plates) & they confirmed that you will now need a rwc to get club reg, cars currently on club reg will also need a rwc once renewal time comes up. This info is only regarding Victoria, other states have different set ups.
If you are joining a NSW Historic car club the car has to be OEM ,30 years old , they will allow some safety updates to make the car roadworthy to the road rules.

MikeZ32 got his zed registered on club rego earlier this year if i remember correctly. He had a thread up about it which might have some information that could be useful to you. Abraham
