    Hyall,

    Considering selling my 90 2+2 manual TT. Car is perfect for me in every way except I'm considering buying a 1998 zed. Getting soft in the old age I guess and want that brand new car feel.

    As most would know, I operate zedcare.com and look after many of the local Brisbane community zeds as well as contribute to the technical section of aus300zx.com. Those who don?t know me can do a search against my name zed4life (zedcare.com) to assess my background in the zed community.

    Most who know me will know how pedantic and obsessive I am with maintenance on these cars. Rest assured, my own car has not suffered the usual neglect that mechanic's own cars are often subjected to.

    This car has had every imaginable maintenance / upgrade possible including extensive engine bay detailing and rewiring (see more photo's below), soundproofing, seven point immobilisation, and micro-detailing.

    [IMG]

    All the big (and little) things that need doing on a car of this age have been done including plenum pull, 100K service, injectors ultrasonic cleaned, Renewed: radiator, 1 piece tailshaft, upgraded clutch, Brake Master Cylinder, steering rack, Series 2 PTU etc etc etc. Just about every component on the car has had attention, not necessarily because it was broken but because of my obsessive nature.

    This is NOT just another recent import with an unknown history. I have owned the zed4life?mobile for well over two years. I?ve tallied up the time I?ve devoted during that time and come up with close to a thousand hours. So I know every square inch of this car and can regale/bore prospective buyers with a complete unabridged history about any concern/question they have.

    Body and interior remain unmodified. All the work done on this car has been done under the surface to improve the ?base? for reliability except for a little engine bay ?bling?. You can rest assured that this car is 100% reliable.

    Engine runs extremely strong on stock boost. Turbos are suspected to have been replaced prior to my purchase but I cannot confirm.

    * 1990 Aztec Red 2+2 Twin Turbo manual
    * 110Km
    * 7 point immobiliser(s)
    * extensive soundproofing
    * full plenum pull (all water/fuel line replaced etc)
    * S2 PTU relocated
    * 100K service done
    * Paging alarm
    * 300K speedo
    * TWD
    * Sheepskin seat covers (original seats still fine)
    * Dozens of other little mods...
    * Lamborghini style wheels and number plate in pics not included and will be replaced with appropriate alternatives.
    * Rego - Sept 07

    I don?t want to lose contact with this car (as I have paid so much time and attention to it) so am offering (Brisbane buyers only) an after-sale maintenance program if required so prospective buyers can be assured of ongoing support after purchase.

    Price is $19,900 neg. I know the price is higher than many others for sale but the primary difference with my zed is a known local history, a highly obsessive current owner who knows the car backwards and a guarantee of reliability and an after sale maintenance program.

    Prospective bargain hunters please don?t apply. This car is on the market for a short time subject to my successful purchase on another zed so I reserve the right to withdraw it from sale at any time.

    If you?ve got the $$$ and are ready to go then let me know.
    Please SMS me on 0402279373 or email to markfieldconsulting@gmail.com. Ph calls may not be answered for some time due to job commitments but SMS/Emails will.

    When I saw this thread in the For Sale section as was like WTF...until I saw you had another zed in mind. Never thought you'd sell the old gal. :p Despite never having met you Mark, after being a member of the forum for a little over a year now, I truly believe you're a zedaholic lol. The passion you show for these cars really shows and I'm sure that the 1000 hour estimate is very conservative. This is a true gem for any serious zed owner.

    Best of luck with the sale Mark, I'd love to see a 98 model cruising around :cool:

    No, very difficult to find an import of this

    age.

    Am considering a '97 TT with an alledged genuine 16000kays on the clock. Was imported direct from Nissan Japan to a guy in victoria in 97, who complied it and stuck it in his garage. It's well over $30K though:confused:

    To be honest I've had a really stressful night thinking about the whole process and I'm now leaning toward keeping my zed as I've poured so much time into her and she is running exactly how I want. But I will see if any serious contenders for my car appear over the next couple days. If not, then I'll withdraw the sale and start pouring more money/time back into my zed...

    Update

    Now have a confirmed buyer for mine at an average price and another inspecting this arvo. It looks like the zed will be sold this afternoon one way or another and I am still unsure if I have made the right decision to sell or not...:confused:

    Anyway, discussions with the '97 zed with 16077 verified kays are keeping me interested in seeing this thing through ... but I bet when I hand over the keys to mine I'm going to have a panic attack.

    Sanity Prevails - Now withdrawn from sale

    Have let the buyers know and apologised that I am withdrawing the car from sale. After all the time I've invested in this zed I can't let it go after all, even for the price I was offered.:D

    The *only* thing that really bugged me about my zed was the rattles so, I'm now about to spend big on overcoming the 'rattle' enemy.:rolleyes:

    1st job is a complete suspension overhaul, all rubbers, bushings etc will be replaced. This is overkill because 98% are in visually servicable condition but obviously loose/slack after 16 years (something I can attest to in my old age and I'm sure K-Zed and John from Cresta can relate to ;) ).

    Have lined up AMEC to do it as I don't have the time, energy or resources to do it ATM. Only going to cost ~$1300 ish all up including parts from Coz. Also getting the drivers door hinge replaced and lots of other annoyances eliminated.

    Soundproofing is supposed to be a good way of getting rid of the rattle enemy, just think of all the things you can buy now with the excuse of well i was going to spend and extra 10-15 getting the other one so this isnt really that much compared to that, good luck with everything mate and i am sure your zed will be the way you want it and pass its toughest critic (yourself)

    Cheers,

    Bigbaz

    Soundproofing - already done

    Interior entirely gutted and insulation foam layed right through -done ages ago. Helps iron out most but still chasing more!!!

    Soundproofing works !!!!!

    My grey zed's rattles are limited to the T Bar relief garnish (where the push button to unlock the T-Tops is). I think I need to Sikaflex this in.

    The rest is tight.

    Let's not start on the maroon Zed though. For example when I close the door on the grey Zed with the window down there are no rattles .......... on the maroon Zed, I have trouble picking one rattle from all of the other rattles.

    It's a case of chasing these "one-by-one".

    Cheers,

    Peter
