Any remedy to the above symptoms, please? I have tried search but couldn't find the exact answer. And it's not common for the washer hose to be leaking too. The clutch would click when it's on the way up, just before I release my foot off it, this is really annoying. Maybe some WD40 or adjustment will help? But the pivot point seems to be really deep inside the centre tunnel.
Problem solved! I posted this below but I will put it here as well. I looked at the clutch problem today and after two hours of trying to work out what the noise was I narrowed the problem down to the clevis pin which connects the the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder push rod and then found that there is a nylon bush in the clutch pedal hole (this bush is not shown on the the clutch pedal diagram in the Nissan maintenance manual - GREAT!!). My bush was warn right away on one side. I wanted to use the car tomorrow so I made up a copper bush out of a half inch copper saddle and no annoying clicking any more. I will try and buy a bush for it in case I have any problems later - it will be interesting to see if it shows up on the Nissan parts diagram.
Thanks. Is it possible to have a picture of the culprit and its whereabout or an indication in the incomplete clutch diagram? I got no idea about this bush thingie, Had a look just now. Is it under the bonnet or in the footwell? Needed a light to have a look down there too.
In the footwell Yes the pin is in the footwell. Go to "Technical" and look at the online maintenance manual in the section "Clutch System" on page CL-4 (CL-5 if you have a turbo) and it will show you how the clutch works. You have to pull out the "snap pin" and then you cna pull out the "clevis pin" then in the "clutch pedal" where the pin goes through you will find a nylon bush which is probably worn (this bush isn't shown on the diagram!?). I'm sorry but I can't show you pictures as I don't have a digital camera (yet) but it would be hard to photograph anyway. I would buy the bush before I started pulling it apart otherwise you will take your car off the road unless of course you want to put it back again (not hard if you are a professional contortionist). Hope this helps you - good luck.
