I want to give my plugs a clean and i'm not sure the best method. My car has been missing all over the place and I had to replace a 4 week old set of platinum plugs because unburnt fuel had coated them in carbon and crap. (It's a long story)Anyway, I was thinking maybe just petrol and a hard scrub with a tooth brush or contact cleaner and a scrub...?Any suggestions?

If it's only a lifht later of carbon..

.. you could just try a fine metal file or some steel wool, but if it's a heavy coat, then I don't think it will help:Reading spark plug faces (Bosch)

I use the wire brush dril bit on the dril

    and works wonders.

I have heard that you shouldn't do it but I have proved to my self over and over, time after time that this works a treat.
