until the Bimmer appeared in their rear view mirror. And the driver of the car he passed at the end of the long straight must have shit himself.

The track has actually been tamed a little

Up until the 70s, the flugplatz (I think thats how its spelt) and the long back straight had a much more agreesive hump and the cars would actually get airborn at speeds of well over 150 mph. Check out some old F1 footage and you'll see what I mean.
