I thought this would interest some people from victoria...

Skylines Australia (SAU) is another web-based forum that has never been an official club befor like nissan-datsun sports club and the likes. Well after some active meets in the last few years the victorian section have decided to 'officially' become an officially registered club.

the reason i'm posting this here is that for a $50 joining fee, it is the cheapest club that has affiliation with CAMS and is able to offer lisences to members. So you pay for membership then IF you want to join CAMS as a member of an affiliatd club you can do so for another $90 or so (nto sure exactly). Where SAU is advantageous is that its the cheapest to join at the moment...

If anyone is interested there is information at the following link in regards to the first sign-up day scheduled for 12th september at the albert park lake:
    http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49318

you don't have to own a skyline or even like skylines to join but i thought if anyone is looking to get a CAMS lisence then this might interest you.

    Cheers,
    Warren.

    Not bad......>>

Although I would hope that people would look for more in a club then just that they have cheap fees. The current cost of a CAMS L2S licence is $83. By the way, PIARC membership is only $50 so SAU aren't the cheapest.

there is more to the club...

there is more to the club than just CAMS membership obviously, but i didn't want to 'sell' the club on this forum as that doesn't seem right to me. But as for other extras they include: regular cruises that are covered by insurance (free of police and free of wankers that do burnouts and drive stupid), regular dyno days, large stand at autosalon (we had the gibson GTR at the last autosalon if you went you will remember it), skidpan days, drift sessions (specialised track), go karting, bbqs/functions, meets at the whitehorse, a club championship, and some other stuff also. the people on the board will be able to tell more at the sign-up day or if you email them through the link i gave.

i have never heard of PIARC, but SAU is also $50 to join making them the equal cheapest in that case. we were told at the last pre-club meeting that SAU will be the cheapest so that's all i went by. i stand half-corrected :)

I thought the cheap CAMS possibilities might be the thing of interest to the Z people.

Plus having grownup where my brother had a Z31 NA then bought a Z32 TT, and my uncle has a Z32 TT and my cousin has a Z32 TT and my mate from work (jedi-77) has a Z32 NA i have no choice but to embrace the Z and its associated clubbers :zlove: after all it is a performance nissan...

i was going to delete the thread if people thought it was stupid and not necessary but i htink i may leave it if its had a reply already...

    Cheers,
    Warren.

No reason to delete the thread.....>>

People should be free to join any club or organization that will have them and also be able to pick from the widest possible range.

PIARC is the Phillip Island Auto Racing club, which lists such members as Greg Murphy Rick Kelly and Craig Lowndes on its books. Their website which is very basic can be found at http://www.piarc.com.au
