My mate has moved from QLD to Vic and wants to know about changing rego.
Does he just need a safety / mechanical certificate or does he need another engiineer certificate.
    Thanks

Its not hard. He needs to get a VIC road worthy from a local vehicle tester to present to Vicroads.

Then he takes his old reg and the road worthy to Vicroads and pay for the next 12 months of vic reg. Then he cashes in the QLD reg.

They will do a quick ownership inspection on site and off he goes.

he wont have to pay stamp duty so it will be just the 12 months reg charge, $500 odd

In nsw there is stamp duty

I changed a car registered to myself in QLD and changed plates to NSW and yes I still had to pay NSW stamp duty:(
