Hey, i just bought my first car in 5 years (always wanted a Z)but the headlight bulbs are naffed. I bought some goochy zenon bulbs but cant figure out how to replace the old ones. Now i know this might sound a bit dumb but i am scratching my head as to how to get the old bulbs out, please help :(

Z bulbs would have to be THE worst bulbs to change. If they are

standard and yours is an import they will be H3C bulbs. There is some articles in the tech section on how to mod these to H3 bulbs as they are far more common.

Unscrew the black round cover on the back of the headlight, pull the rubber sleeve out and you will see a silver clip in a sort of U shape. Push one end of the clip down and undo the clip. The clip will swing backwards. Remove the old bulb, put the new one in then have fun trying to get the clip back on. Replace the wire clip which goes into the bulb 'squeeze it to pull it off the back of the bulb' then the sleeve, and the round cover.

Hope it makes sense, it should once you see it.

    BigCol That's what she said...

    It's quite simple....

1/ Disconnect the headlight connector from the main loom as it gives you a little more room to move.

2/ At the back of the each headlight there should be a black boot. Remove this and a spring clip will now become visible.

3/ Disconnect the globe wire from the headlight connector.

4/ Undo the spring clip (can be a bit of a bastard to unclip but keep at it).

5/ Gently pull the globe out. Take special note to identify which side of the globe is up or down (ie the globe base has a notch cut in one side and a kinda half moon on the other.)

Follow the reverse instructions to put the globe back in taking extreme care not to touch the globe with your hands.

Time-saving note: Do not use crappy opti-blue type globes. You will spend more time & money replacing them than you would if you had of bought a quality set of phillips bulbs in the first place.
