changing battery without loosing power

    You don't even need to go that far with the zed. Just disconnect the main power feed connector near the brake booster, then the battery cables can touch whatever they like.

    Yeh - by the manual your right

    Thats what it says in the manual - nemz

    As far as I know the standard chip is ROM (read only memory) but a nistune is an EEPROM (programmable) chip

    So unless its a nistune then it should reset to factory settings as far as I am aware, I think the manual says 25 minutes (from memory)

    ive run my yellow vert with out battery briefly, i wrapped the terminals in old rags to stop them touching stuff

    you can also buy memory power units from the likes of repco etc, they plug into the cigerette lighter socket and provide enough juice to keep radios etc from losing their presets while you change your battery.

    For me, I guess there's nothing wrong if you would ask them. You're just asking anyway.
