    I am looking to install an Alarm and remote locking to my 89 Jspec.

    Does anyone have information regarding this installation??

    Currently If I unlock the drivers door the passengers also unlocks so there is at least a sensor in the door that knows when its locked... A wiring diagram or other information would be appreciated. I had a quick look at the service manual but could not find anything much interesting.

    Do you know if the drivers door has a central locking actuator that I can drive from the alarm or do I need to get one from a later model Z or do I need to install one of the crappy aftermarket ones?

    Also Boot release solenoid. Any experiences installing these???

    Thanks.

    normally your alarm will have an output to unlock one actuator.. which you hook up to the drivers side and then the factory one will auto unlock the passenger one (if you know what i mean)

    this is what I mean by the loss of the old posts

    on the old forum a search on actuator, central locking, even door lock would have given a heap of information on this. [ this is what I mean by my post here http://www.slvrcr.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16252#post16252

    Here is what I remember

    1] you just need a run-of the mill master actuator for the drivers door [ about $10 from Jaycar] - this is so an electrical impulse [ from central locking, or the other door actuator] will unlock the lock, the standard instalation from the factory only has a slave on the passenger door - and manual operation only on the driver door.

    2] For the hatch I think that you need an actuator that is not quite so run-of-the-mill, I believe that there you need one that does something additional - I just cannot remember what it was - perhaps it pushed rather than pulled, or actually "held" itself open until pushed back by the hatch actuating hook when the hatch was closed, can not remember which [ or perhaps both ?] - but it was all in the history of the old forum.

    and mate - since you are so close by in penrith if we find out exactly what the hatch actuator needs to do, and a source - buy one for me as well, and I will repay you AND donate to you one of my spare, unused, jaycar master actuators [ I have 4 for some stupid reason] for nix.

    let me know.

    cheers

    I would rather use an OEM actuator, I have had the cheap ones fail on me previously...

    Do you know if a late model Z came with keyless entry?

    Cheers.

    Only the doors open

    remote on my car.The trim on the inside off the hatch has been removed ,im getting it ready for paint, its never been remote. I dont see any spring there, although i didn't pay it much attension.
