Cat. Overheat, what causes it?

    My Cat overheat light has been flickering every now and then lately in the past 200km. What causes it to come on? I've never seen it before and I can't find any helpful information on it.

    I always run 95ron petrol, and I don't drive the car hard.

    incomplete combustion, check Ptu connections and also coil packs .
    and some new plugs if u ve still got probs

    My cat overheat light came on when my car was running rich. One of the inter cooler pipes had fallen off :(

    comes on when it gets hot. usually when there is unburnt fuel inside it

    follow trevs advice and find the cause of this

    Mine was coming on quite often, unplugged the 02's

    Drivers side one was cactus. Cas light never came on while it was unplugged, O2 has been replaced and the light hasn't come on since :)
