Well it was at the mechanics (Morpowa) and I called to see when the car would be ready and they said the car wouldn't start. Anyway they got the car going and have said it looks like the temp sensor is stuffed. Would a faulty temp sensor have these symptoms? Also they were to regass the air cond but when the car didn't start they said they could smell a electrical burning smell. On investigation the air cond fan motor was really hot and it looks like the fan has crapped itself? Why would this occur? How much for a new fan or is there a cheaper aftermarket alternative? I had a quick chat to them, and it sounds like the temp sensor or temp sensor connector was faulty, which I think causes the aux fan to stay on permanently (while the ignition is on). If this has been faulty for a while, the thermo fan motor has probably burnt out. Faulty temp sensor and/or connector can cause the car to run rich, which might have flooded it when attempting to start it. I'd say a new Nissan fan would be bloody expensive. Why not just get a second hand TT (N/As are different) thermo fan? They are noramlly pretty reliable. Good luck with it.
Thanks Dave --- Just picked the car up and is running well. Will try and source a TT fan. (ANyone have a spare to sell ?) Know after having the radiator servive the water pump is leaking. BUGGER Will keep any eye on that temp sensor though. CHEERS MICK
