Hey guys, got a problem.. i decided to install a series 2 ptu into my car this afternoon and soldered it in following the instructions. I tried to start it and no luck. Any ideas?? I plugged it into datascan and came up with a code 11 which is a cas fault... Also is there any way to check the ptu is working? Im pretty sure i wired everything up correctly.

didn't unplug the cas plug and forget it while you were getting to the PTU did you? Have a check, could be corroded pins on it too

Aye Luke I'm gonna install mine tomorrow. Instructions were pretty clear on the piece of paper - but did you make sure you switched the ground wire to the other side of the PTU?

Failing that, jiggle the CAS connector until it turns over, it happened to me a while ago. Found that some of the wires were loose / corroded so I bought a new connector (quick release style) and re-terminated them all into the new connector. Hasn't failed to start since :)

    Cheers
    Greg.

Check the two black wires on the PTU wiring and the CAS plug as suggested.

Yep thanks for peoples help turned out to be the cas plug... cleaned and re tensioned and all sweet, must of knocked it when i was fiddling with the loom. One question tho would the ptu up the idle? seems to be idling a bit faster than normal( around 900 compared to between 750-800). And greg, yeah the instructions were very clear i'd originally thought id crossed the earth with cylinder 1I, cause both wires are black but turns out they're ok:cool:.

:D maybe that means you've got more power now, the extra power to that cylinder is causing it to idle higher? :zlove:
