Ok so my Zx is doing some strange s##t under low rev on take off it stutters and stumbles for a few seconds then comes good.. Its mainly on take off doesnt matter how slow or fast i take off it feels like its bouncing on the rev limiter.. i tried cleaning the maf, cas and ptu connectors.. Checked all the coil packs (all fine) checked all vac lines cant find anything.. Did find some plug with a few wires broken off my gearbox thou.. I have no idea what it did or does.. Searched a few threads but cant work it out.. any advice or thoughts would be great..
Good start but also clean / replace the 6 injector connectors. And replace / reseal balance tube o'rings and look for vacum leaks maybe. Cheers Dave
cheers Dave I done just about all that stuff when i did the motor replacement in october. i have checked everything in the last 2 weeks but cant work it out. no error codes came up when the car was checked cant find anything out of place or old or damaged only plugs not changed was the injector plugs.
Are we using the correct NGK spark plugs? Is the gap set to .044" Remove the two throttle body tubes and check to make sure your throttlebodies are 100% in sync. I've done a How-To on this on 3ZC and tt.net. Which one of these sensors is buggered up on your car? http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=175503&highlight=speedometer+sensor
Stutters or hesitates? Like do the revs fall then pick up again? Is so you might want to check your idle and throttle position sensor adjustment. Hope it helps Sam
so i have literally pulled half the car apart tried a different maf, cas ptu, tried diff spark plugs and cleaned everything i can find.. but the car still does it.. is not as bad now. mainly seems to be when the car gets up to running temp. most of the time it happens is just after changing gear does not happen when cruising or driving at a set speed..
UPDATE Swapped a stack of stuff from 1 zx to the other and the problem is still there . Although the problem is now only occurring when the car gets to running temp could it be a failing maf / afm.. i am now totally stumped with this now
