Hay all been a Member 4 about a month now and I just want some help I was at work 4 9 days and get home to drive my car that night as I am driving and the car starts to splutter like it was running out of fuel ????? But it had over half a tank .... When I go faster it stopes Has any one no what it is could it be the fuel injectors need a clean or a full over all or is it got nothing to do with what I think it is ??????
You could have a faulty fuel sensor that could have been giving you the wrong reading as to how much fuel you might actually have, this happened to my friends wrx. Goodluck.
it could not be that as i just filled it the bay befor i went to work and drove around a bit that day had no probs it was just wen i got back ?????? and i could smell fuel when i stopped the idel was harsh but when i opend the hood and pulled the throttle cable it started running normal again ?????
Could it be sparkies are gone or a cylender isnt firing properly? Mine was doing this for a bit, spluttering at low revs and almost as if it was going to stall, but at a higher rev is wasn't really noticeable. If you can you could hook up to you PTU and drop cylinders one by one or just check your plugs anyway? I'm far from an expert on this but just wondering if that could be it. Could also be your injectors giving a shit spray and thus seeming like no fuel. Can get them cleaned :O Or try running some injector cleaner. But again, just suggestions, You'd want someone else to come on and back me up first
Might want to check the CAS sensor plugs see if they are all good...I had a similar problem and turned out to be that....sounds like you have a misfire....also check spark plugs as mentioned above...
Sounds to me like your Fuel Pressure regulator is stuffed. Either than or your FPCU or even the fuel pump. You can bypass the FPCU by earthing the white wire under the fuel pump inspection hatch in your boot. If it's ok after doing this, then you can either replace the FPCU, or permanently eath that white wire. If you have access to a Fuel pressure gauge, it should read between 36 and 43 psi depending on whether the FPR vacuum hose is connected or not. A new FPR will cost you around $80.
