Hi Guys, got a quick question, whats happening is that the car is not switchin off with the ignition. It continues to fire until the fuel peters out. This has happened before for over 5 secs on a cold start.. I had just been ignoring it, but it has come to the point where i am struggling to get the car started because im losing all fuel pressure each day, and the next morning it can be dog to start - actually started missing yesterday morning, then cleared itself up. i found this thread: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=290746&highlight=ignition+stop+engine But my ECU hasn't been wet? any input is good thanks :zlove:
Happened with mine when I got the det sensor wire burnt. Changed my ECU and fixed the problem. Get yours swapped with a known working one and see how you go... Arvin
I've got the same issue mate. Put in a new ignition relay and that fixed it for about a month. Back to it's usual antics now tho...
So who has a s2 na ecu i can borrow to test? comon, i know you've all got one sittin in the garage for a rainy day right? Gah, any other options to at least isolate and test it?
mmarshall... or however you spell it, has 3 cut cars in Lismore, NSW. Do a search for his FS thread. Pretty sure there was a S2 NA amongst them
Same thing happened to me when I didn't properly ground one of the plenum ground wires, fried part of the ignition circuit. had a temporary switch that cut the ground wire to the ptu to turn the car off, ended up getting a new ecu though..
Didnt bother, still got it tho if someone wants to buy it and have a go, TT, socketed.. kind of broken - $30?
Allegedly USDM '96 z32 ECU on ebay. Apparently my TT use to run a USDM ECU and it worked fine, until it got nistuned...and while I suspect that this was a ploy to get me to pay the tuner to tune the car twice - the ECU cover did have a weird part number, as in it didn't start with a 23710, in fact it didn't even start with a number IIRC... So it is very possible that my JDM car was running a USDM ECU with no probs. Worth a shot if you can't one in Aus (if you can confirm its from a USDM non turbo that is)
I've sent Martin an email in hope that he has it still available.. Any other options for testing without an alternate ECU? thanks for the assistance guys :zlove:
Bugger, hopefully martin will reply.. Would a tt be suitable for testing in a na? obviously there would be some mapping errors and sensors not working, but would I at least eliminate any other options for the cause?
