My 300zx is being delivered to sydney tommorow morning from melbourne, cant wait! only problem is is that the truck driver just called and said he has to jack knife the truck to get the car off, the only problem is that that may not be possible on my street and the car is unregistered. I rang the local police station and they were very sour and said i will have to have it towed even if it is 5 secs down the street!!

If anyone has any ideas i am open, i dont really want to pay a tow truck driver for a 10 second trip when i have just paid for a transport truck from melbourne.

just risk it and drive it. it'll be a few streets, max.

Depending on where you live this is what I would do too. Technically illegal, but if it's a quite area and close to your place I would do it.

Other option would be to get a temporary rego permit, you're going to need to get one to get it rego'd anyway. Not sure on the rules of that, have a look on the NSW dept of transport website.

Technically it's illegal , but like all things it's only illegal if you get caught. I would take the risk if it's only a short trip. If it has vic plates still attatched it would be safer than no plates as if cops see a car with no plates they will pull you up as apposed to any plates it's 1 in a million.Or as said get a temp permit for a quick trip wich i think is crazy. If it's in the suburbs the chances are slim.

Check the contract with the company delivering the car, you should find it is their problem to get the car to your house NOT YOURS. If it is a distance that is far enough you may get sprung then the trucking company legally may be obliged under the contract to organise the second tow etc.

Thanks for the advice, yeah if it comes to it i might just have to take the risk.

Thats a good point about the company, i will give them a call early morning and see what they say.

Turns out the truck driver just rang me back and his next pickup is after my drop off not before so he can keep my car on the back of the truck and just park out front and deliver it to my driveway. Thanks for everyones replies, cant wait to get it on the road :D
