This is a quote from the list of probihited vehicles they mention in that quote: Novice Driver - High Performance Vehicle Restrictions P1/P2 licence holders are also restricted from driving the following 6-cylinder vehicles: BMW M and M3. Honda NSX. Nissan 350Z and 370Z (including private or 'grey' import variants eg. Infiniti G35, Infiniti G37, Skyline 350GT (V35), Skyline 370GT (V36)). All Porsches from 1994 models onwards (except diesel). Mercedes Benz SLK350. I don't like the "including private or 'grey' import variants" statement. That could perhaps be twisted to include our cars Here's the link I refer to: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downloads/p1p2_conditions_dl1.html
That is VERY surprising... I distinctly remember reading that any engine modification which increases performance was banned... but that was a while ago. edit: reading the PDF template for applying for an exemption, it states http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/publicationsstatisticsforms/downloads/45071143.pdf
In QLD there is a mod plate code for 'performance modifications'. Things like bigger cams, carby's, turbo's etc. Up here that is what they are referring too.
If you do decide to mount some gauges on the A-pillar (which you shouldn't bother with anyway), make sure they're not ones with 'liquid pressure', ie oil pressure, as there's the (very remote) chance it could break and squirt on your windscreen obscuring your view. But I reckon that even if you had voltage and boost gauges there, you'd get defected for the rice factor.
you have a na 300zx. not a bloody race car. all you p platers do is lose points. leave the car stock problem solved
^^ i was thinking the same. love Zeds birthday = April 2, 1992 (18) wouldn't that make him a "P" plater too? lol.
yea im a p plater but i havent lost any points. nearly all my friends have lost points or there liscense
to a degree, what he is saying is probably the best advice. With the new P-plater laws, there has come a greater demand for NA variants of the 300zx over the TT..... plus the swing towards more mature drivers wanting to purchase an original vehicle of either. Tasteful mods perhaps, but things like pillar gauges give the impression that the vehicle has been mishandled. Mount your gauges beside the steering column, so you are limiting the visible damage to interior panels. Better still, replace them with an ECU talk. Might not be as ricey, but a much better alternative Secure your sub, either with straps or bolted down, but you must still have access to your spare tyre. An unsecured sub box, even if it has NO chance of making its way into the drivers compartment in the event of an accident is still a defectable offence in Qld. Your local traffic and dept of trans. officers will concur. Like Rollin, you can go years without being caught, but when you finally do, and you ALWAYS do, it hurts like hell.
LOL epic fail you piece of P plate shi... oh wait Now im off to do stereotypical skidz with my cap on backwards in my racecar na 300zx. Then maybe later I'll slap another Unit sticker on the back window. Can never have enough Unit stickers! :zlove: Edit: no offense was intended with this message, merely just having a larf
mines modified too but i dont 'drift' everywhere and 'drag' down streets like most p platers. im not having a go at all p platers just most of them that think they can drive.
no im just saying its an na. it doesnt need 5 guages and a loud exhaust. my brother drives an r32 and got fined because he has a too "loud" exhaust and hid bulbs in his headlights
Mm yeah, I don't care about your brother or his R32. Contradictions aside all I can draw from what you're saying is not to drive like an idiot, which's been said... 100 times so far?
