cam covers

    anyone thats painted cam covers before...do you need to use a high temp paint?

    no not the plastic covers the metal ones...rocker covers maybe

    oh,

    same answers, they dont get hot enough that you NEED high temp paint.

    I personally with mine and alot do is get them powdercoated. Finish is better quality, can last the temps, hard, wear resistant, won't get pealing if not prepped well.

    And its not that expensive.

    What I'm doing now is simply collecting a complete bolt on set of part, intake pipes, cam covers, water pipes, plenum, the works. taken them all in to get polished, coated, chromed in 1 big batch and then do a big swap over and onsell your bits on.

    I sanded mine, and then primed and painted black all with high temp paint. It's flaking off now... Next time I will try blasting them and then painting. CBF'd powdercoating.

    yeah but thats coz you're lazy and busy in qld like doing stuff


    i have plenty of time to kill over here lol

    Chrome engine bays look the part, if you're into that whole fast and furious type thing

    not everything is chromed... some parts, some powdercoated. but the idea was you just send it all off in 1 block at the same time.
