Hi, Just pulled up at a client's in the Zed and they noticed a cable sticking out from the front bar (how embarrassing!) I don't have my service manuals and I'm here until 6pm so I thought I'd find out from the forum where the cable goes. Looks like it's usually secured via a screw. I'm in a suit so I could get on my back to have a look. At first I thought it came from the top of the receiver drier but it actually doesn't. Any ideas?
At least you have one on that car my dash always says -86 on the amb temp. So I went looking for the sensor. Could never find it or the plug it goes into. I bought a new amb temp sensor and still to this day cannot find where it plugs into...so mad as I hate things that don't work
Thanks guys. Shame I can't get in there and attach it now. I'll just disconnect it for the drive home. I've got a few screwdrivers in the computer tool kit in the car but I don't think I'll attempt this while wearing a suit. I'll let you know how I go tonight.
Just stuff it back up there somewhere tight for the time being if you want. (so it doesn't flap around obviously). I think half the people on here have theirs loosely dangling around behind the front bar area anyway. lol.
haha This is exactly where i hide mine, never knew what it was on a different note, i have series 2 CC pod (without ambient temp) why do i still have this under the nose panel?
same with me... have a 95 zed with no ambient temp on the pod but have the sensor, does it do anything else?
because.... even though the series 2 climate control does not display the ambient temp, it still uses the information from the sensor to calibrate the temp inside.... So it works like a series 1, just doesnt show the actual temp on the pod.
Yeah was going to say it looked like some sensor and the outside temp for the climate control would have been my guess....zip ties to the rescue Cheers, Craig
Ok. Last appointment for the day was at 3pm so straight after work I went to the bolt shop. I feel pathetic as I've now been there twice and they refuse to charge me money for one bolt each time. The diagram on the service manual was a bit unclear about how it's mounted. I found a mounting with a hole of the same diameter as the one on the sensor itself. I attached it to that. It doesn't appear to obstruct anything and isn't too close to any source of heat so that's where it's staying unless someone says I completed fugged it up. Thanks for your help.
While you have put it in an ok spot, the factory position is just behind the number plate on the underneath of the reo bar. Its just held there with 1 stainless screw.
