sorry to say, my Z will be off the road for a while very very soon. been a bad owner and let little things become bigger problems. after on/off reading over the months ive decided to go with a 2jzgte with a single t04 set up. currently, i have a 93tr magna which has gasket problems. a friend and i should be able to finish the gasket replacement this weekend and all i need to do is get it registered and that should be my work car for a while. i was fortunate enough to track down a Z owner in the US who happens to have done the same thing with his Z. actually upon deciding, looked on the web if it's been done and i only managed to find video references in youtube, many of you may have seen it. again, i was fortunate that i was able to track him down and we established communication via email today, very helpful fella and it appears the job will be fun indeed. oh well, i'll still be lurking around, no Z for a while soon but i'm looking forward to doing this.
Very interesting... I thought about it a while ago, but to me it just wouldn't feel like a Z anymore. Keep us posted!!! :zlove:
yes it is, will only support around 550 horses. now a turbonetics T101 and i will b impressed (capable of 1800 horses) but would a 2j spool that, now thats the question? i would get a T58 at least on a 2j
perhaps, i still need to do a lot of reading and the checklist is getting bigger. been getting some awesome help from an overseas Z owner with this so i feel very lucky. on a side note, the new jersey Z that has a 2jz, initially outputed 650+rwhp on a 'small' turbo, didnt ask what it was perhaps i will ask him lol. he's currently trying to break the record, currently his 2jz/Z setup is at 930ishrwhp, crazy. here are some vids of his Z, it's the team infamous Z: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=2jz+300zx
Sounds like an awesome project to undertake. I would love a 2JZ in the Z, be sure to keep us updated on it
