    Hey everyone,

Buying an Oil cooler kit for my TT as it currently doesn't have one.

Been fishing around Ebay and was just wondering what the best go is and how much I should be spending.

Would something like this be ok? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/13-ROWS-...ccessories&hash=item3a6bf751d0#ht_2725wt_1277

13 row comes with adapter and stainless steel lines

Cars currently got 253rkw running 12 PSI has a FMIC...just looking into more preventative measures for cooling and keeping the engine safe...

Also has a NA front bar...so best place to mount?

    Cheers

Get a T/T Zed specfickit from a Zed vendor, that way you can have confidence the hoses etc will fit. Just put it in the standard location. Ditch the FMIC while you are at it too

I'd spend a little more and get a kit that included rubber mounts etc. Pretty sure Z1 do kits. Or if you want something really nice get a Setrab kit from UAS or MRC.

That ebay kit doesn't seem to have a thermostat in the filter adaptor plate?

Curiosity, why does your car not have even a stock oil cooler on it ATM?

    NA/TT conversion I think.

The standard T/T system works on oil pressure (relief valve in the oil filter tree) not temperature

With hardware e.g. lines and Sandwhich plate? if so im very interested...and where from?

Not sure about lines etc but this was from Z1. Maybe send them an email?

Also to give you an idea I'm currently running a setrab cooler with twin SPAL thermo fans. Under full noise the oil temps are getting up around 105*, or 15* above coolant temps (running Evans waterless coolant so sits around 5* higher than traditional coolant).

I don't know what temps yours would run with no oil cooler but there must be a pretty big difference between water and oil temps which is not good.

Cheers for the info rob...yeah this is why I want to get one...I know it can't be too terrific without it...whats the worst case scenario if I leave it too long?

Planning on getting one ASAP as soon as i get next pay

Honestly M8, NOTHING untowards will happen.
Oil degredation due to occasionally elevated oil temps is the major issue here if you can actually call it an issue, but if you change your oil inside 8k K's then its really no issue at all.
Fit an oil temp guage. If you see temps regularly in excess of 90/100 deg C then change ur oil slightly more regularly.
By all means fit up your cooler setup but dont stress about it not being there.
Consider a thermostated, full flow type for best results.

Cheers mate, just the sort of advice I needed to hear....Wouldn't hurt to fit one though I guess ::eek:

What needs to be tapped for oil temp?

Hurt? nah, so loong as you dont hold the oil temps too low. thats prolly worse than too high.
You could just tap into the oil filter adapter body I reckon. Some of them already have tapped holes ready to go.
Mine is an NA and i just wound the sender ito a blanked off hole on the tree.
