    red32 You talkin' to me?

Over the last couple of years, I've had DREDZ on the portable dyno run by Morpowa (Adelaide) at the Berri Show 'n' Shine. Compared very well with the dyno runs I've had in Melbourne, except for the last (Melb - 144rwkW, Berri 2 months later - 125rwkW--- WTF!)

So, here I am in Adelaide for a couple of weeks looking after the Old Mum. Thinks to self: "Self, why don't we go to Morpowa (about 3 km from where I'm staying) and get them to check things out on their permanent installation?"

    So I do just that!

Bragging right disappear right out the window... max 134 rwkw. F@@@!

    However!

Simon (Podlewski) totally remapped the low-end part of the fuel map from what it had been (Melb(Bayswater) company also used by Jedi-77).

Drive back to where I'm staying - no big deal.
Go out later to get some brews, pull out of the "drive-in" and "FANG" it!

    FARK!

The old girl has so much torque, it wheel-spins in first AND second (it's an auto N/A).

I don't really know what you did Simon, but I LOVE it!

    MORPOWA RULES!

Sounds like he gave you "morpowa"... sorry.. :p

Nah that sounds very good, a streetable NA is the way to go, unless you want to be bouncing off the limiter all day long like Mike!

do you have a unichip? How much did the installation/tune cost you and where is this place?

    Actually, lesspowa!
But huge torque low down. Love it!

Yes, Unichip installed and now fully functional.
Long story cut short, initially had the Unichip fitted by a guy who managed to stuff it up totally. After many enquiries (including the Australian distributors, who were totally disinterested) and several years, I went to the same place as Jedi-77 and they were able to correct the errors made by the original installer and set up a fairly reasonable tune. Power figure looked good, but I now have my doubts about their accuracy.
The Melbourne company is called "Dynomotive". They are in Bayswater, and I was happy with what they did at the time.

Cost to this point was about $2500. Actual cost of purchase/tune should be around $1200! In retrospect, that cost for 36 rwkW (which is what Dynomotive gave me) is probably not justified. That's not to say you wont get results with a Unichip, but what results you do get will be relatively expensive!

On the other hand, from my experience, the Unichip (or similar after-market/piggy-back chip) is the single biggest power boost you can give to an N/A. There are better "bang-for-buck" mods... pod filter, extractors, for example, but 'chipping' will give you the biggest performance increase.

Thats great to hear Doug. I had only known of Morpowa in Drag Racing but there is much more to them than that. How lovely is Simon! lol. Happy chatty guy who is truely into what he does. I met him at Mallala Raceway DA round earlier in the year, it was his first DA comp and he absolutely blitzed it in that superb 750hp purpose built Sileighty that he drives. Plenty of him on you tube.

He came up for the DA final & presentation dinner a few weeks back too. I didnt know he was a gun tuner though ;)

    Caz.. :)

Did you have wheelspin in first when before you started the mods?

The only times 'DREDZ' has previously wheel-spun is at the drags, with the front brakes locked. I'm thinking that there may have been some sort of crap on the road (sand, oil?), because it hasn't done it since (although, I haven't given it as much boot since then). Having said that, tho', the effects of the low-down torque are definately noticable!

The other effect of the low-end remap is that 'DREDZ' no longer stinks of fuel when I start it! i.e. no longer running too rich low down!

do you have a graph for this latest tune dougy?

interesting in seeing the torque graph in retrospect to your original 144rwkw graph.
