I'm considering getting braided brake lines, so a few questions.

    1. As my Zed brake hoses are 15 y/o, how servicable might they still be?
    2. Braided lines @ circa $100 each ~ fair price?
    3. Apart from firming up the pedal, any other upside/downside?

NB: I've got new rotors & pads (yet to fit) + Chili M/Cyl brace ... not unhappy with current braking ability.

    Hey Rob

    1) While I'm no expert I would think 15 year old brake lines would still be fine.... it's a bit scary to think of them not lasting this long given how long many cars make it to.

    2) Sounds about right

    3) Downside: unless they are approved they are likely not technically legal for road use (though they are perfectly safe). In terms of pedal feel I actually didn't notice any change going to them, the only difference was at track days the pedal was a bit more predicatable after a few laps, with standard lines I found I was getting less feedback under braking. For a street car I could quite happily live without them.
