    Hey All

I have a rather steep driveway in the apparment complex that I live in. Even with just me in the car I'm scraping on the road. I have tried multiple angles etc. but I think scraping is inevitable.

I was after some ideas for protecting the lower bumper as I've actually got a crack in it now just from leaving my driveway :(
I'm sure a lot of people have scraping issues, is there some sort of material\substence that I can put on the bottom to try and protect it?
I'm probably going to start with black thousand mile an hour tape or something like that.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks :zlove:

(I have a stock body kit on my Z and I don't think it's lowered)

I have a similar problem because of a steep driveway.

My plan is to get a UAS front bar eventually. They have 20mm more clearance and 40mm less overhang. In the meantime I'll keep repainting the stocky bar as necessary.

can you chuck it in reverse and get out that way??

That did occur to me to try that, but it's a long, steep driveway, and quite narrow. i.e. would be a real bitch to reverse down, worth a try I guess

Hang on a sec, they have more clearance and less overhang than the jap bar they are based on -if you scrape with an OEM bar you'll scrape with the UAS one.

Looks like you've just given yourself an excuse to install a reverse camera. :)

What will be cheaper, a reverse camera, a new front bar or a hummer?

just take it slow... it will side and scrape rather then crack on impact if you hit it fast... but for a stock zed to be hitting it ...damn!

when i was looking for a house to buy the driveway was as much a part of my choice as the size of the berooms lol

hehehe, never thought of that actually..."yeah, my girlfriend's away at the moment so I've been scraping my front bar"
Doh, I'm hijacking my own thread with filth, oh well.

Thanks for feedback guys, guess I'll just try my "tape-it-up" idea and see how that goes...

    Cheers

You might actually rip the front bumper off if you do that aswell

    Pretend it's a 4WD

And raise it rather than lowering it. Put some chunky 4WD tyres on it too.

A ZED on stilts - bit different.

Put bigger rims on it will raise it higher
