getting boost wound up in a week. Will look at getting it up to 14psi from standard boost.Am just wondering how much of a power gain this will make and if i should use bleed valves or electronic boost controller. Has anyone recently boosted there car from standard boost?
i think the qu is 'who hasn't and why not' electronic boost control if you want to do it well, boost jets if you want it cheap, bleed valve if you want it cheap and adjustable, altho i don't like bleed valves personally.
got boost?? i recently switched from the engine bay boost contoller to the in car type and i'd say it's prefferable to help agianst spikes and you also know exactly what it is running. you do get a noticable difference as i had it back to standard for while when there was engine work going on it, u gotta luv the extra boost
I'm only running about 7 PSI (safety boost) atm.... Saving up for ecu upgrade and 555cc injectors Will definately be adding an Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller. Can't wait to run more boost!!!!!!
nearly got an apexi avc-r but decided to start off with the turbotech that simark sells. search for simarks for sale thread who also has a broken link to skylineaustralia forums but just do a search there his boost controllers seem to do well. quick spool and holds it's boost. anyway mainly decided to go with it because i didn't want to waste my money, for $35 i can still try and tweak the car without having to fork out $650+ for something i do not entirely need at the present time. i still have lots to do with the car and cover every inch of it, and when i come close to squeezing every HP out of the car then i think i can spend some extra $$$$ for some goodies.
Just installed boost jets.. Very noticable difference. Very cheap Saving money for nice electronic boost controller.. Cheers, Will :zlove:
Re: nearly got an apexi avc-r i thought it was roughly 10HP per psi? so therefore 9-14psi = 50HP which is 37.3KW. true?
