I have heard the Bonnet is alloy.... ( I think this is true) but what it the frame that supports it made of??? I do know there is NOTHING magnetic anywhere on my bonnet.. except the bolts that hold it on....
Frame is alloy as well, I found this out when trying to weld a bracket to it for secondary bonnet tie down

Where exactly does it say that ???? After looking at both the J-Spec & Aus-Spec versions of FAST the same part No is listed for ALL models. There is no mention of materials. 65100-30P00 07/89-10/98 F5100-30PMM 10/98 (supercedes all prevoius No's) Cheers Andrew
I was always under the impression that the NA was steel too. last time I said this I got shot down too There is a guy at my work who has a NA and it is definately steel, the bonnet is so heavy compared to mine. His may have been replaced after an accident though.
Let me elaborate... I did not want to get in to a Huge thing here.... it was just that my Mechanic said my Bonnet was Fibreglass... I said NO it is ALLOY...... tapping it and feeling the frame all FEELS like Fibreglass.... Proved it is NOT fibreglass today cause I have found a very small DENT.... bugger ... alloy it is.... also found a NISSAN stamp in the underside of the bonnet on Strut brace..passenger side near front of bonnet....
