    Hey everyone,

Was fixing a transmission fluid leak last weekend and had the bonnet opened up on the widest notch. Prolly had it opened for a good 3-4 hours too. Anyways, ever since the bonnet doesn't line up at the front with the centre nose panel and the headlights. Its about half a cm high and looks almost like it is slightly ajar. This is really annoying to look at. Is there a way I can adjust it? I'm thinking its gonna have to be adjusted at the hinges, but I'm not sure how to. Dont' really wanna try and *bend* it back either. Help please....

    Thanks ppl

    :)

    Not sure how you >>

managed to end up with this problem, from just having the bonnet open:unsure:
But if its the front edge of the bonnet that no longer sits level, then the easy fix is to adjust the latch mechanism a little lower.
A very easy job, that should take about 10 mins to fix.
Just loosen off the bolts & tap the latch down gently, tighten up & close bonnet. May need to do this 2-3 times to get the right height.
    Cheers

Hey Red it sounds like you bent the bonnet hinge on one side....

I'm not quite with you when you say that you had it on the widest notch???
As far as I can see there is only one position and if you pushed it up much highr you would have certainly distorted the hinges or even the bonnett itself.:(

If its not too far out you could place something in the scissoring action of the hinges and "GENTLY" push down on the bonnet and it may fix it but I stress that you would have to be careful otherwise you may crease your bonnet:wacko: and you would have to ascertain just where the bend was first..............maybe you should take it to a panelbeater your car looks too nice to fart about with IMHO ;)

    Hmmmm....

I thought there were to settings for the bonnet to open up..... Ooops. I have tried adjusting it at the latch, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Its as low as it will go.

Maybe i'll have to take it to a panel beater....

Just thought someone here might of had this problem before.

    Thanks Keza but,

I've already tried that :(. Maybe if I make the latch holding holes bigger I could adjust it more. I wouldn't have thought that I would need to do that to be flush though.

    Thanks

Yes 2 positions, but you may have >>>

    >>> inadvertantly moved the hinge parts in their 'seats'. Nissan assembled with gunk under both 'seats' but if the gunk has let go the fixing bolts may have allowed the top and/or bottom hinge components to move. Close examination will show.
