the bumper is supposed to go side skirts and a deeper front bar like pictured.. for those who don't want skirts or a kit, bolt on option is going to flow better with the stock body.
Agree with Mike, not so with Rob. Regardless if the twins bumper or stock bumper looks better (personal preference) isn't really the point. Point is, people asked if a bolt on option would ever be available. Reply was a resounding NO. So some were forced to pay lots for the full bumper (which they are still waiting for) and now the supplier comes out with a bolt on option in the time it has taken to supply the original goods. So true, I don't like stock bumper or twinz. I wanted to have abflug rear with twinz diffuser. But too late now....
Obviously the full bumper and the diffuser bolt on will be quite a bit different. The TwinZ full bumper is a different shape compared to stock (more obvious with the 2+2 version). The TwinZ full bumper is more solid and compact, which is one of many reasons why I love the design. That said, this is another great product for the Z32 community :zlove:
agreed, talk about a big con job Make people spend a fortune on a whole new bar when all they wanted was the diffuser in the first place LOL:rofl: They were always going to release the diffuser only, lets face it,there are more people with standard bars than wanting a whole new one Nobody forced anyone to buy it
no they didnt literally force anyone, obviously, but they did state that the bars were a very limited run (especially for 2+2) & that this would be the only time they would be available directly via an australian distributer. Oh & that they'd never make a bolt on option. Basically if you want one you have to get it now as there's no second chance. Better design is personal, I'd happily have either on my car but I'd also happily have an extra $500 in my wallet & not have to pay for a whole bar to be sprayed. I stand by my initial statement that this is a slap in the face to those that shelled out big dollars & supported them initally. Next time I'll wait for a knock off.
When I saw this I thought that sux but the full FRP bumper/diffuser is a complete modern look which also lowers the rear end.. Also being FRP easier to modify/shape if you are pumping your quarters wider (which suits me) the add on diffuser cleans up the stock bar for the new look . but I guarantee you side by side the full bar will look better. I guess they didnt intend making just a diffuser until the winfactory diffuser came out.
Ive been following this on the us forum, here and a few people in the know I totally agree that is what they said,,but as far as a limited run, thats a load of bullshit and everyone knows that ,at least i hope they would have Why would a company set themselves up to make money and do moulds only to stop making money and shelf it As far as aust distributor, who cares, you can get this at anytime direct from twinz or z1 yourself The whole reason for now selling the diffuser on its own is because they have exhausted the customers for the new bar (because of price) and need to maintain the venture to keep making money isnt it,this afterall is how they pay their mortgage ?? Im waiting for the next thread complaining about massive price drops This will happen to get the buyers who already thought it was too expensive to do business with them The biggest problem was everyone jumping the gun and placing an order, Had everyone had said this is too expensive, they would have had no option other than reducing the price as they themselves have said they spent alot of time and money in designing this -SO CALLED LIMITED PRODUCTION,this action in itself would have benefited the zed community Anyone thinking this was a limited run is confusing these rear bars with the summer specials at macdonalds As far as the diffuser, the same thing is happening again with everyone saying i want one and they dont even know the price those who dont remember the past are condemned to repeat it just my take on it,Kat
The whole deal with the 'limited run' was that the market wasnt there for on going production due to the price so they said they were only going to do a couple batches of pre-sold bars. The idea being they would then move onto developing their front bars & the new wing. This is well covered in the many threads here & in the states on these bars. The deal with the price wasn't them whacking on a big profit rather that they're based in Peru so there's a lot of shipping charges involved. I was willing to cop that for a really nicely designed part that was going to be fairly unique (due to pricing) as there were no cheaper alternatives that looked anywhere near as nice. As far as an australian distributer this was a fairly big win. You can't buy direct from twinz they direct you to z1 who want $1500 to send a bar to aus. Dont be mistaken, this bolt on will be pricey too, from z1 I'd be guess-timating circa $600-$700 by the time it gets here. Anyway getting ot, if I had my time again I'd save a lot of coin & buy the bolt on.
So? For the money, as I have said before, I'll be going custom to suit widebody when the time is right. Doesn't change the fact that the supplier said no to offering just the diffuser (term used very lightly), and yet can release one prior to the first lot of complete bars actually arriving. I approached twins ages ago (prior to the 2 seater version release) about making a custom job to suit widebody but they weren't interested. (guess I'll wait for the first shipment of individual difusers to be sent - then they'll release a widebody version) [TIS]
Ztoy you reading this thread? You can borrow my 2+2 rear bar and copy it if you want, catch is you have to install my entire body kit after you are done making your mould
I agree with Tim! They want people to buy the genuine thing rather than wait for knock off products & in return then they go & do this???.........what a crock!
Haha look at the can of worms you opened...guess sales for the complete bar weren't as high as expected... Saying that I'll definitely take one...who is the distributor/middle man???
Making moneys not the issue, as I said above I understand the work involved in designing, producing & shipping something like the full bar. But its not like they dreamed these up last wednesday, they only recently finished producing our bars & its not unreasonable to think they had the intention for the bolt on (or had even started it) during this time despite many of us saying we'd prefer a bolt on option only to be told they had no intention what so ever of producing one.
I think you've completely missed the point! Telling people a bolt on diffuser will NOT be available in order to get them to buy a COMPLETE rear bar!.........but then go & release a bolt on diffuser after the fact! I'm sure you've heard of 'False Advertising'? Sure a company has EVERY right to make a profit!......but at least try & do it legally & with integrity!
I would prefer the complete bar I think. Well no, I'd prefer to actually have a zed, but I'm working on that...
