thinking about replacing my 3a race filter with a racing twin air bmc filter. have been told they are one of the top air filters for high performance cars.

alot of race teams use them around the world. they retail around 130 dollars. have any of you used them, or heard good reports about them.

have read about them on the internet, they seem to stack up performance and quality wise any thoughts on them. cheers bigmax

Check filtration quality, that's the tradeoff with air filters ... greater flow ... lower filtration

Bmc I think are the best in the industry, the edges of the filter are hand sprayed making sure they do not spray any rubber on the filter surface, they do a lot of little things like that to be above the rest, can not remember off the top of my head.

Bmc are also used OEM in a lot of supercars like lambos, Ferrari, astons, etc.

    extra insurance on rebuild

i am in the process of a engine rebuild so wanted that extra insurance for it. i have the a3 filter at the moment, and the reason i got it was it had a great revue for filtration, and air flow compered to more expensive brands. but a bmc comparison was not one of them.

still not sure about the 3a, its cheap bang for bucks i know but there has to more to it. long term function may be one of them, or other factors of quality.

not sure so there is my worry i guess. it may not be founded who knows. if its good enough for a great many race teams, and high performance cars around the world. then i might give it a go cant be a bad thing for the new engine thats for sure.
