im getting ready to upgrade my factory blow off valves and have oretty much decided to use a aftermarket plump back, but would like to see what everyone else is using and if they like it,is it worth the $$$$ etc
if you want plumb back dont even bother upgrading the stockies (unless they are farked) no point. Bov's are only good for the noise or when chasing big power
they are a little tired..... may as well replace just in case i reckon.... gotta remeber everything in these cars is 17 teays old or so..... wear and tear will kill anything..... im not after noise, the intake hiss as the car comes on boost is enough for me.....and the crys of the bogans in the car i just thrashed..lol....just kidding
damn....so busted...lol i have honestly never been out for a drive with thew sole intention of hunting commodoresa nd flacons....honestly...and lancers and civis.....and other pitifull slower turbo nissans.....never,not once i swear......lol.lol.lol
GFB Hybrids are great Ross, you can set them to what you like... full recirc, 50/50 or full vent. They are also really well made!
and you sell them for xyz amount? pm me,if the price right they are sold,if not ill hjave to whinge a try and get a discount.....
i run the old style blitz trumpets on the turbo intake hardpipes, i think i am going to get some gfb hybrids and connect them where the stock recircs used to be
gfb hybrid rosco mate.. the best out there. nice and snappy, u can run them full atmo if u wanna be a fool or hybrid mode like i do... quite for normal driving. open up when you need them 2 id only change yours if your old ones are leaking bro...
I use the turbosmart supersonic full vent type for my car but illegal for road use in NSW not sure about other states. BOV tech info for you. The stock BOV's are fine if running stock boost etc. They are tensioned to release at I believe around 9 psi of pressure. This setting is a fundamental problem when people boost there cars and then find out they are bleeding boost I have seen people spend countless hours doing boost leak tests to no real obvious avail. All the while it was a result of the factory recirc BOV's opening and doing there job. All good aftermarket units have a nadjustable spring tension and can be adjusted to suit different bosst pressures, this is all too often a common oversite by many a modifier. I would recommend GFB for street use or Turbosmart for hot street, strip track and high hp use, simply because they have the biggest bore size or any valve out there which equates to quicker pressure venting and safer better performance overall
lol dont worry i believe you ...but i hate it when you just go for a drive, just fir the sake of driving, i do a once a week, i drive for 30mins at night, no music, just to listen to the engine and make sure nothing is wrong...not that i know what im hearing for lol but then some 'huge mo fo' in a commie comes and trys and drags you...so annoying...but funny
I have two Turbosmart megasonic type III twin trumpet BOVs for maximum f*** woosh factor... Blows up granny's skirts on the footpath - glad i didnt buy them they were around $450 ea on the car when i got it
I have Blitz (I think they are DD's) bolted onto my intake pipes. Nice sound. Not boy racer loud, just a whoosh of air shooting out. If you want plumb-backs get the Hybrid GFB ones. Heard good things about them from everyone.
greddy bov type R or type RS make the best and loudest sound. but a bit expensive u can still get a replica on ebay for $99 each
I wanna get TurboXs Blow Off Valve Type H-RFL - Nissan 300zx TT Does anyone have any info on them ? How do they sound on the road? How loud are they ? Im just about to upgrade from stock recircs and these are the ones i have my eye on Anyone got them or have advice about them ?
