BBK 343mm is quite big dude. What size wheels do you have? They might not clear 343mm rotors. I think if you're going to that size, you should change to larger calipers, to get the full benefit from them. Like 6 pot. But there's no real point to that if it's only going to be driven on the street as the stock setup is more than capable. The other option is to get the GT-R/350Z 324mm rotors. Keep the rear's the same diameter as stock. There is no need to change them to bigger discs, it's too much work for no real gain as most of the braking is done up the front. Having the right brake pad will make more of a difference... You'll have to upgrade your calipers to the TT versions if you have the NA ones on. I have the 350Z kit on my car... - You really have to find out if your wheels will clear the larger discs. Cheers Rob.
If you're made of money... AMG brembo's 365mm fronts and 355mm rears rotors, 8 piston fronts, 4 piston rears. A guy on SAU has fitted a set to his 34gtr. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gtr-Mercedes-benz-Amg-8-t194010.html&hl=amg
nice one ,those are worth more than his car lol not being mean, but he wants to do carshows, not comedy shows, those on an n/a is just plain laughable
Has anyone actually fitted the Akebono calipers to a Z32 hub yet? COZ offer them in a kit now, and it looks mighty tempting if a caliper adapter can be sourced or fabbed up. By the way lads, those are the calipers that are fitted to the 370Z sport package.
yeah kinda extreme for an NA. pointless really but im after the ascetics rather than the practicalities of stopping a fast car if you get what i mean, like i want brakes that work and are bigger than stock but not extreme. hey rob, i have 19" gmax rims. large offset but not sure of what exactly? to get the 350z brakes on the zed, whats involved with other than cash and hard work? like where could i source these and who could help installing? hey just a question, are your rear disks larger? they look quite good, but when i look at the zed my brakes look out of proportion? the fronts WILL be changed - maybe larger rotors and TT calipers? but i guess i may just leave the rears the same .. shit, they aren't too bad. but again how much work is involved with that? i thought they were reasonably priced LOL. 2 grand for amg calipers or 10 grand for brembos ? hmm.. nice. thanks heaps guys.

what about R35 brake? standard brake dimension: front brembo 6 pot 380mm x380mm x34mm, rear brembo 4pot 380mm x 380mm x34mm 400mm aftermarket rotor available, 400mm~16"=our stockies. USD$2000 a pair you may find an adaptor for r32-r34 in japan. (so will fit z32 )
easily lol. better off getting the brembo kit just for the zed.. but eh. gives me something to think about now.
money is not a matter in this thread right ? one more option, if you really wanna stand out, try twin calipers set up. i.e. two calipers on one rotor, let's say 324mm rotor. big custom work.
TT calipers do not fit 343mm rotors, they are wide enough but are made for a smaller diameter rotor, their arc is too small so the caliper cannot fit down all the way over the rotor. You need to go to R32 calipers at least. As for the rears, UAS has a rear setup using similar type rotors for stock mech hand brakes.
linky? i think im just going to buy the slotted rotors for the rear, and get TT calipers with the 343 big brake kit for the front. im doing searches now but there isn't much on brake installs at all. but if your saying TT calipers wont fit, how have others done it? dont make sence that UAS would sell a part for the Z32 without saying *note : needs R32 calipers* maybe its just me.. would go the brembo's but im saving for my next car, which is almost time to get..
nah your getting confused, the bbk's are for 324mm rotors not 343mm hence MonkeyBoy saying the TT calipers dont fit. 324mm is GTR, 350Z, etc size.
so the 343 are for ?? im way confused lol.. shouldn't 324mm rotors fit TT calipers? kindest regards. rod.
