wait a second, your full of it look i did some searching over the internet yesterday, because if this was true then I wouldn't be doing this GB your statements are baseless and i challenge you to back them up the link that you posted has these statements that i will copy and paste as quotes: this is in regards to your V1 favourite: and what did you say about it not being stealth? this is from the linked website that you posted up and this on performance: so escalus, stop f@rking other people around with your comments please tell us where you found out they had been recalled - it shouldn't be hard as the nature of a recall means that a lot of people find out about it - so info on it shouldn't be hard for you to find - it was hard for me because i tried searching on the net and came up with nothing on it
ok guys we're continuing this GB only on the basis that the unit is a stealth unit so continue to express your interest in here, with the knowledge that we won't go ahead with the unit if it turns out to have problems we'll wait for independent verification before we actually go through with the purchase
What i would consider to be the ultimate in defense would be the LaserShield licence plate protector (reduces the lidar reflectivity of the plate) with veil coating on your headlights (we could do a GB on this later) the STI for radar detection and a laser jammer that u switch off after u've dropped to the limit
Umm, excuse me...? Definately MORE information please.... What's this??? tell us all about it. How much, when you can get them, details, website..?? Cheers, Ben.
Yep what Benny Said... More info needed. But why would you need all those things if you already have the STi Driver??? You should be able to reduce your speed in enough time if the detector does what it says it does. Fate...
ok more info in here an explanation of the situation: your threat analysis is primarily- 1) radar - multinova (radar with camera on the side of the road), on-board radar (radar in the cops car) 2) lidar - handheld laser gun by a LEO (law enforcment officer) standing on the side of the road (this is essentially an infra red light that is shone on you from a distance and when that light is reflected back to the operator then he can determine your speed) 3) RDD - radar detector detector Now what you need to counter this is- 4) stealth radar detector - this will detect all of the above #1 and not be detected by #3 Link to STI 5) lidar counter measures - these come in a few forms, the most basic being to reduce the amount of reflection that you car provides to the lidar gun (the most reflective parts on the front of your car is firstly the licence plate, secondly the front lights, thirdly your windscreen (not so good if your windscreen is quite sleek like on a Z) ), and a more advanced method being to send back a signal to the lidar gun to confuse it (this is called a laser jammer) Now to solve #4 you use the BEL STI which is undetectable (we will clarify this) To solve #5 you do a combination of things that when combined, become more effective - these are the options in my opinion to be the best: 6) Lasershield licence plate protector - it doesn't reflect the lidar laser very well - it kinda diffuses the light - this costs $20US but here it seems to cost about $45AuD - Laser Shield 7) Veil coating - is a coating in a bottle that u wipe onto your lights - i think the final appearance isn't so clear - it may affect your headlights at night time slightly which wouldn't be ideal if u do country night driving but if you're in the city at night then it should be ok i would think - it costs $90US per bottle and and this note from Roy the retired cop in the US Link to Veil 8) you get a laser jammer which jams the laser guns until you get too close to them which results in the laser gun having the strength to "punch" through your "force field" (in star wars terminology) This link is to the Blinder jammer, but a better model with more powerful jamming components may be released in the next few months (a test will be carried out at the end of April by independent testers to compare all of the jammers) Link to BlinderXtreme Jammer Now laser jammers are expensive (about the same as the RD) and illegal... by using the RD and the above #6 and #7 you should get enough warning to drop ur speed a bit if you are using #8 then basically they won't get a lock on you until you turn it off, which you do so that you don't raise suspicion as soon as ur down to perhaps 5km over the limit
Some people wanted time after Coona to save up I got flashed by a camera last week @#$@#$@# so not having a RD just cost me $150 more and a point - i'm not forgetting about this don't worry Also there are some Lidar tests being carried out in the USA in late April so we'll wait to see how the BEL STI compares to the rest of the market - i'll post up those results as soon as they're released cheers, Matt.
