They would work with auto box and dont see why it wouldnt...but manuals are always better lol...but not just the flames or sound is the benefit of the rev limiter...with it you can get better take offs which is always helpful. Hoping there will be more interest but i will leave it till start of next week and then finalise details and let everybody know. I hope you aren't suggesting people with auto boxes use this for launching? Seeing as you can't free rev in Drive you have to wire it to the neutral switch....... you ever see what a neutral bomb(Rev in N and drop to D) does to an auto gearbox? Guys with auto boxes, the unit will work on your cars however don't expect to use it for anything else than popping flames.
As long as i can use it for poppin flames for rice factor ill be happy /end sarcasm I just want a rev limiter thats not directly off the ECU.
As a launch control is useless for an Auto - you have an auto, you don't NEED launch control, it's kind indirectly built in That said, for the price it's a good, safe rev limiter and it's cheap enough that even if I had an auto I'd get it just for the rice factor every now and then.
Sorry guys bad news first...just got an email saying i got given a wrong quote due to the AU$ being up this was the reason why i was trying to get everybody such a good deal. My guy send me an email saying that somehow i got the wrong quote. But good news is that the total comes to $220 instead of $215 so hopefully this is still good enough for everybody. i want one too but my cats cost 300 each. for those interested, the flames shooting through the cats tends to damage the bit where the substrate connects to the shell. so after a while doing this the honeycomb will seperate and bounce around in the cat making a really bloody annoying rattling sound (did so in a friends R32). Also cant be good for the honeycomb the heat and pressure would likely break up the honeycomb slowly. Punch your cats through, and youll have no such problems, and the flames will be bigger as theres no restrictions on it anymore. Main problem with these things though is damaging the turbos. If u have an NA sweet get it. But flames and fuel combusting through the turbine blades is not at all healthy. Id only do this if i was planning an engine out shortly down the traack, or on another car where the turbos can be replaced without pulling the engine. But they are very cool! i want one
Brought the bee *r* limited then sold it! Fcks turbos, destroys cats! And for those in VIC ( not that I care I run twin screamers and no muffler / cats ) it's a 10+ THOUSAND dollar fine if your cats are gutted or missing! Such a wank factor on an NA, useless really! Launch setting the limiter to above a certain amount (say 5k) produces shot launches anyways.. What's the point?! Flames? Search YouTube! It just floods the zed...
Anyone care to tell us why you cant use it on an auto? Pmacks car is auto for anyone wondering and I'm pretty sure he wasn't using it for hectic flames.
