Anyone who can help me with the bearing number for the a/c compressor belt tensioner idler pulley? - mine's starting to make a little noise and I'd prefer to buy the bearing from a bearing shop.

I took my pulley to a bearing shop and they put a new one in - $20 all up

He had big problems getting the old one out, even with a big press.

its actually not that straight forward to change the bearing on some tensioners without the new bearing going notchy.

I do em for $25 exchange, but cant help you with just the bearing number.

Bearing is a 6301 (common size), but they do come in different quality grades. At max engine rpm the bearing will be spinning at about 15,000rpm, so check with the supplier for a suitable bearing. Pressing out the old one will risk damaging the pulley, but pressing the new one in is no problem.

Use a 6301-RS Bearing,RS means Rubber Sealed Type.

mine is a bit wobbly even with the nut tightened right up... i get weird ticking noise and i think its coming from down there. it gets worst as it gets hotter and really gettin on my nerves...

i only started getting the noise after tightening my drive belts. also the bolt has came out of this so many times its not funny.
