Been running a Braille B2317R battery in the spare wheel area for the last 8 months. Haven't yet experienced any issues with charging, starting or voltage decrease with this setup. 500amp Fuse & holder from Jaycar: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SF1986 http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SF1980 Here is a pic of the 2 b&s battery cable running down behind the passenger seat: Had to cut a hole on the wooden spare wheel cover as the battery tie down stuck out a little: Here are a couple of engine bay pics where the positive cable passes through the firewall: Finally here is the cable crimping tool I used to neatly crimp all the lugs to the 2 b&s battery cable ends:
Nice Job. Is that the one and only earth from the battery you have there? To the center of the spare wheel well? That metal is old and crap... or does the earth continue out to more points from there? When I relocated mine, I had it earthed twice at the back, plus spider earths at the motor side on 2ga back to the battery direct. Issues might arise from such a weak earth.
That battery is small, 100m w 150 h 150 L or close to it, and would leave a heap of room in the normal battery spot for other things, filters reg ect. Why did you put it in the spare well?
Very tidy and the advantage of short battery run for the Amplifier. Where did you get the, through the firewall, fitting? Well done.
Thanks gmbrezzo. Got the firewall fitting from Revolution racegear: http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/index.php?PCID=10317&PSO=245&PSID=3100005030&PSV=Primary&CDO=
since that is your only earth, id suggest continueing that earth point from under the car goin to the chassis... check out my build thread theres pics in there
