hey zedders... as the title says ive got some small issue with loosing volts when sitting for any more than 3 days ...... i take it for a 1hour drive.. the volts go back up to 12.5 when switched off... 14.2 when turned on...

ive got a reletivly new battery and new terminals but still have no reason to drain..

any hints on where to look?

ps i have a Tong tester but there seems to be no less than .7amp draw when sitting.

    cheers

What sort of battery are you using?, i've heard rumors of the calcium batteries indicator light being fine (green) while the battery is half flat.

You could try charging your battery and letting it sit for a few days and see how it goes when not connected, that'll tell you if the battery it self is buggered or you have problems elsewhere.

    700mA into 12V gives 8.4 watts. That's a lot.

An interior globe such as the one in the hatch would be about 6W - that's close. A lot of us have had flat batteries from not closing the hatch properly.

Do you have a big sound system? The amps may be hard wired on, or switched on full time. Disconnect all of that and remeasure the standing drain current.

If you have an alarm system, there will be a standing draw from that, but nothing like 700mA (unless it is faulty). Power that down as well and re-check.

One other thing to check is the electric seat adjusters. If either of the little knobs happens to stick in one of the on positions there will be a continuous current draw even after the seat has stopped moving. I bumped mine up with my knee once while working under the dash. Several days and several flat batteries later I found it.

Dude I am not sure I understand your question....

12.5 volts at idle is normal, as is 14.2 while being charged by alternator is normal.

    How flat is it going?

Current draw; 0.7 amps (if your measurment is correct, how did you measure???) is a shitload.

    What???

Overcharging your battery won't increase RC

    drivers seat

Ive just remembered ive wired in my drivers seat some time ago... (when it was a daily driver)... and ive wired it to the active 12+ and not on AC.

Could this be it? maybe i should disconnect my seat and re check current draw.
