    Hey guys,

Car is misfiring and I'm almost 100 % sure its the ignition coils.
Got a mechanic to take a look for free, he reckons there's 3 coils not working.
Stupid me forgot to ask which ones.

So is there any way I can find out which ones aren't working??
I got the coils, just the matter of finding which ones are busted and replacing.

    Thanks guys

John, just grab a volt meter and put it across the terminals to measure resistance. Keep it there until the numbers stabilise. You will have to subtract the internal resistance of your meter, so just cross the two terminals on your volt meter to get that number. It should look something like 18 for the test, minus 7 for internal resistance the give you 12 as a final result. If they are more than 2 either side of that they probably need replacing.

Edit: I could be wrong with those numbers, I think I'm a decimal point out (was going from memory) Here's a tech article: http://pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.401

You could run a cylinder drop out test on ConZult.
