QLD AZA Assist - Cleanup Day(s) - starting Sat 15th

As many of you know AZA has been severly affected by the Qld Floods. Please see this thread for more info - http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1128248#post1128248

As you can appreciate there is alot of cleanup work which needs to be done over the coming few days.

So I am asking as many Qlders as possible to "get in and help out". Many hands make light work as the saying goes.

So the details:

When - Saturday 15th Jan
Time - Whenever you can get there. Even if its only for an hour. AZA will be there from 8:30am
Location - AZA's house Goodna (please PM me for the address)

What to bring: Rubber Gloves (as thick as possible), enclosed shoes, buckets, mops, brooms, disinfectant, degreaser, bleach, cloths and rags - anything which will help clean

If you have a ute or trailer it may come in handy.

Please note there will be no power.

If you are able to attend please reply to this thread. Please also PM me with a contact phone number. At this stage it is unknown whether we can drive into the estate or have to walk so I will let you all know!

I have PM'd a few suggestions to NG & MM and whilst I will not reiterate all here, is there someone who can take responsibility for rinsing/drying/Inoxing GPO's and switches? Wall and kitchen electrical fittings will have to be rinsed and dried out thoroughly, including the meter box... just hose it down, let it dry and then smother it in Inox to prevent corrosion.

 

Hi, Yep I am in...should be able to bring another 3 helpers with me 7x4 caged box trailer, shovels, rakes, broom.
I also have a pressure washer I can bring if there is no power I can leave it with AZA so when he gets power he can use it.
Will also bring some clothes up anything that doesn't fit he can give to friends or neighbours.

Pete, your gerni + BoneZ's genny would probably be greatly appreciated, liaise with Nasty Girl and magic Mike on this. Mains water pressure may not be all that good.

NB: Council will be providing FREE rubbish skips and kerbside collections.

 

PM Replied - I can bring a second Gerni and power leads, hoses etc.

Theres a good seconds carpet place in Beenleigh some where as well - somthing money raised could go towards.

 

i got a gerni i can bring as well.

 

Sounds like you got enough gerni's to clean up the whole block, not just AZA's place

Just had word from Aza.

The roads have reopened to his house so we will be able to drive in tomorrow.

He however said that they may be limiting the amount of cars in tomorrow - so if you can carpool with anyone it would be recommended.

If however you do get stuck and you cant drive idea would be to park somewhere and then one of us can come and get you. Just off the Goodna exit there is a park when you turn left just before the BP.

But hopefully we wont have to many troubles.

Please also note there is alot of mud on the roads so drive carefully! :zlove:

We are just back from Holiday today.
I have a 3KVa Inverter Generator which should run any of that sort of equipment.
