I know these questions have probably been asked thousands of times, but help a newbie out. Looking to do the automatic to manual conversion.

Are the diff ratios the same between the automatic and manual?
Have done some research and found that the only two manual boxes they made were NA and TT.

Looking for someone to shed some light over my confusion. Any other thoughts on this idea?

Also if there is any difference in terms of strength or length between the NA and TT drive shaft/tail shaft....?

Looking to get a list of things needed to do this conversion.

    Current Z32 is a 1989 TT 2+2 Auto....

    Thanks!

Are the diff ratios the same between the automatic and manual? Yes they are, only difference is between NA and TT
Have done some research and found that the only two manual boxes they made were NA and TT. That's correct, both are the same just one has slightly different bell housing that requires a slight grind to work an NA box behind a TT engine.

Looking for someone to shed some light over my confusion. Any other thoughts on this idea? What's the confusion, what's the idea???

Also if there is any difference in terms of strength or length between the NA and TT drive shaft/tail shaft....? Yes there is a difference between auto and manual and TT and NA

Looking to get a list of things needed to do this conversion.pedals, gearbox, clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing (usually comes with a new clutch), clutch master cylinder, clutch booster if you are using a TT master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, clutch hydraulic lines, vacuum assist hoses and check valve, spigot bearing, tailshaft, gear shifter, interior shifter boot.

To clarify a couple of things, clutch pedal, booster and master cylinder come as a set, you either need all NA or all TT components due to the way they mount together, the choice is just whether you want an assisted pedal (TT) or don't mind a leg workout (NA), it doesn't matter what the rest of the system is other than some small differences in hydraulic line fitment.
The flywheel/clutch/bellhousing also need to be a set, again because of fitment differences, you can machine the inside of an NA housing and shim the starter motor out to fit a TT flywheel or you can machine down the starter motor mount to use an NA flywheel with a TT housing (Don't do that, just use a TT flywheel as they have a bigger friction area)

The ECU is also slightly different in the settings

But not required to do the conversion. Most Auto to Manual conversions out there are still running the factory auto ECU.

True - but I thought he should be aware of it anyway

Only thing to note about using an auto ECU in a manual is that if you go to check your timing with a light it will be 25btdc, not 15
